Description

Dating to the late 19th century, this magnificent French sideboard is a wonderful example of provincial craftsmanship, where practical furniture was elevated through beautifully executed hand carving and elegant proportions.

Across its façade are delicate floral swags, acanthus scrolls, musical trophy carvings and moulded panel doors, all softened by decades of natural wear. The layered painted finish reveals glimpses of earlier coatings and timber beneath, creating the depth and authenticity that only genuine age can produce.

Behind the pair of panelled doors is generous concealed storage, complemented by two upper drawers, making this piece as practical today as when it was first crafted over a century ago.

Its restrained palette allows it to integrate effortlessly into modern homes, while its craftsmanship ensures it remains equally at home within classic French, English and European interiors.
