Pair of Antique Italian Bronze Door Handles

A beautiful and substantial pair of antique Italian cast bronze door handles, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century.

Heavy and wonderfully tactile, each features a generous drop handle set against a long bronze backplate with softly scalloped ends. Years of use have created a particularly beautiful natural patina, moving from deep, almost blackened bronze through to warm golden tones where the metal has been handled and worn.

It is this untouched surface that makes the pair so appealing. They have not been polished or refinished, retaining the oxidation, variation and imperfections accumulated over their lifetime.

Perfect for a pair of interior doors, an entrance to a study or library, or incorporated into bespoke cabinetry or joinery where authentic European hardware can completely change the character of the piece.
