Pair of Petite French Gilt Rococo Wall Consoles | Late 19th Century

A beautiful pair of petite French wall consoles in the Louis XV taste, with scrolling Rococo forms and a warm gilt finish.

Each console features a shaped serpentine top supported by an elegant central scroll, with foliate detailing and a small leaf-form foot. Their petite scale makes them particularly useful for adding a decorative architectural element without requiring much space.

Designed to be wall mounted, they are beautiful used as a pair beneath a painting or mirror, either side of a doorway, or individually to hold a small sculpture, candle or collected object. Perfect for the powder room or naked nook  

Sourced in France and likely dating from the late 19th Century  

The gilt surface shows the character of age and has been sympathetically refreshed in areas where there was heavier wear. We have deliberately retained the irregularities and evidence of age rather than restoring them to a new finish.
