A substantial and highly decorative rare Italian chandelier combines richly glazed ceramic with ornate cast metalwork in a beautifully layered nine-light configuration.
Pieces of this scale and detail are becoming increasingly difficult to source — particularly examples that retain their original warmth, patina and expressive glazing rather than being over-restored.
What sets this chandelier apart is the balance between drama and softness. The scrolling Florentine-inspired metal arms bring architectural presence, while the hand-glazed ceramic elements in ochre, cream and tobacco tones soften the silhouette and create an unmistakably European atmosphere.
The elevated three-tier upper structure gives the piece exceptional height and visual movement, making it particularly effective in spaces where lighting is intended to anchor the room rather than disappear into it.
This is the kind of chandelier we use to create feeling — layered, collected and a little bit theatrical.

Unlike mass-produced decorative lighting, this chandelier shows the hallmarks of quality Italian production from the period:
– extensive cast metal detailing throughout
– unusually intricate armatures and scrollwork
– hand-glazed ceramic with visible brush variation
– large nine-light scale with tiered composition
– original aged patina and surface character
– substantial visual presence without heaviness
Many chandeliers from this era are smaller, flatter in form, or rely heavily on imitation finishes. This example has genuine depth, warmth and sculptural quality from every angle.
The ceramic details are particularly compelling — intentionally irregular, expressive and full of tonal variation. Combined with the aged brass-toned metalwork and faux wax sleeves, the result feels authentic rather than decorative.

Styling
An exceptional statement above a dining table, in a stair void, powder room or entrance hall. Particularly effective layered into limestone, plaster, travertine and aged timber interiors where warmth and texture are desired over perfection.
This piece also works beautifully in contemporary spaces needing softness and contrast — bringing old-world atmosphere to cleaner architectural settings.
