These Louis XVI-Style Carved and Sage Peinte bergère chairs were found in the South of France and stole our hearts with their silhouette and grandeur. Originating from the late 19th century, feature beaded and finialed crest rail, fluted stiles and legs, silk upholstery with a feather filled seat cushion and generous in scale and comfort.
The Louis XVI style is characterised by geometric shapes and shield-like backs. The armrests connect seamlessly with the front of the seat, while the legs resemble classical columns. The decorative carvings are restrained, focusing on classical themes.
